Dove Morgan Schmidt

Dove Morgan Schmidt, who reigned as Ms Oklahoma Senior America 2016, has a passion to help people walk in their dreams. Growing up in a ranching family with an alcoholic father, Dove knew first-hand the importance of setting goals and keeping dreams alive to stay on the right path in life. She understands ‘recovery’ from the inside of a very dysfunctional family.

Today, Dove hosts over 250 children each year at her Crossroads Ranch, teaching them life skills, good work ethics, and how to make positive choices, all with horses and an old West platform. She and her husband, Mike teach young and old alike to set goals, dream big and live life to the fullest through their events and retreats hosted at their Crossroads Ranch near Bristow, OK.

Dove is a certified Anger Management Specialist, Restorative Therapist (basic level counselor), and has been on the Board of Directors for Social Services in her community for 13 years. Dove’s passion is to help folks in recovery, parolees, and anyone that needs a hand up.

Dove is the author of the book, “A Bear and A Dove, A Journey of Faith” that goes into prisons worldwide, with 38,000 copies in circulation in the prisons, as it is the story of her deceased husband, Bear, who served many years in prison. Dove also is writing a series of children’s stories called ‘Paislee’s Ponies’, in honor of her grand daughter, Paislee, who died of SIDS at 5 months of age. Her fourth children’s book, ‘Cocoa, the Miniature Dwarf Mare’ won a medallion award in 2022 for literary excellence at the Will Rogers Medallion Awards in Fort Worth, Texas. Dove teaches at leadership conferences, speaks at prisons, churches, and meetings and she loves to encourage people to be all they can be and to always pursue their dreams. Dove is a ‘cowgirl poet’ and shares her rhyme everywhere she can to help keep the old West alive. Her Cowboy Poetry CD, ‘Dove Tales’ won a medallion award at the Will Rogers Medallion Awards, held at the Fort Worth Stockyards in 2022. A mother of five children, and seven grandchildren, Dove loves to train horses, help people of all walks of life to walk in their dreams, and spend time with her family.
